THE CASH-IN-TRANSIT THUNDERBOX

Every day the Nigerian security industry transports well over 3 trillion naira in cash in a fleet of some 3,500 vehicles. In XYZ State alone, we project this amount to be in the region of 15 billion naira daily.

Cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery is a far more prolific crime than many people appreciate. In 2008 alone, our statistical research shows that 1,590 such offences occurred compared to 733 in 2007.

In the past, CIT bags were used during cash transit procedures, so it was easy for criminals to grab them and run as they are lighter in weight.

Anadal Technologies Limited Cash-in-Transit "THUNDERBOX" is larger than conventional CIT bag.

When an emergency occurs, security personnel need time to notify the police and this can delay the time it takes to process the robbery. The size of Thunder Box prevents 'grab and run'.

In view of these features (full details below,) it becomes very difficult for thieves to grab these boxes and run away as it used to be in the past.

In the event of a robbery, the Thunder Box will trigger different types of alarm to prevent the robber grabbing and running with it.

For example, it can sound an alarm (110 dB), emit 150,000 volts of high voltage electricity, and set off a smoke grenade. Each Thunder Box has two GPS trackers equipped so that a monitoring center or even a police station will be able to know the location of the Thunder Box. These features not only prevent robbers from grabbing and running away with the CIT box, but also increase the possibility of recovery.

Once the lead between the box and security personnel is broken (meaning that the box has been snatched), the GPS Trackers inside the Thunder Box will trigger an event report to the Monitoring Center, notifying them that the box is now under robbery!

If thieves and robber are aware of the fact that they will be caught in their nefarious act, it becomes difficult for them to engage in these acts. The "THUNDERBOX" CIT system is a sure deterrent for cash-in-transit snatching.
